Here in the Midwest, this time of year feels like a weather rollercoaster. One day it is cold and the ground is covered in snow, and a few days later it warms up enough to take our dog on longer walks around the neighborhood. As we slowly get back into dog walking season, I thought it would be fun to share the three dog walking essentials that help to make our routine a little easier.
Harness – Lucy & Co
Ever since he was a puppy, Linus has pulled on his leash. This causes him to go into a coughing fit, so I immediately purchased him a harness to avoid this scenario. Since poodles have such deep rib cages, it was very hard to find the perfect fit for his body. When I discovered Lucy & Co, I bought 3! I love how the body of the harness has a comfortable neoprene feel to it and how it gently slides over his head. What made all the difference for his body is the design of the chest piece and back band. The harness itself seems longer than most on his chest and the band is fully adjustable with clips on both sides. This harness fits him very well and Lucy and Co. has so many fun patterns to choose from- including matching leashes! I currently have my eye on this harness and leash. So cute!

Doodle Bag Dispenser with Clip
It is inevitable that my little guy is going to make a “poodle doodle” if we go on a walk. A bag dispenser that includes a clip on the side to hold the waste bag is a small luxury.

OllyDog Water Bottle
I found this water bottle several years back and still use it regularly on warmer days or even when we travel. It is a water bottle for you, but there is an attachment on the side for your pet. The “bowl” attachment is good sized since it runs the full length of the water bottle. I think this would be a great option if you have a large dog, as there is more room for them to lap up the water. I usually carry a water bottle for myself and it’s nice not having to bring an extra dish for Linus.

Bonus
Mudbuster Paw Cleaner
If I am being honest, this product is what inspired the entire post. As I mentioned, we are in a weird time of year and the sidewalks and grass are often soggy and wet. I will sometimes avoid taking Linus for a walk because of the hassle of having to wash his feet afterwards. He doesn’t enjoy it and neither do I. This little contraption has made all the difference for both of us!

Happy dog walking!
