Life has offered so many unexpected, but welcomed changes this year. The latest is our purchase of a farmhouse in rural Iowa.

Having a small, quiet place to escape has always been something we dreamed about over the years and it is kind of surreal that it has become reality. I have never wanted to live far in the country, but I continue to fall more in love with the peacefulness, open skies, and rolling hills each time I visit.

While this farmhouse is currently a weekend retreat, we will see where life takes us. For now, we are simply enjoying the property and taking things one step at a time. Whether it remains our peaceful getaway or eventually becomes the site of a future forever home, only time will tell.
